DescriptionTwo Cartes de Visite of Civil War Photographers Signed. Both measuring 2.5" x 4", with J. Jones, Virginia imprints on verso. The first is signed "John Jones" on the mount and is a full-length portrait of photographer Jones, seen sitting causally on a backwards chair and resting his head on his hand. Behind him, the studio dressing shows an illustration of military camp tents. The second portrait, with the same background, is signed "Henry H Clark" on the mount. This image is also a full-length portrait, showing Clark seated upon a toy rocking horse, holding a sword in his left hand. From the Bret J. Formichi American Civil War Rarities Collection.
Condition: Both cards are lightly toned, with every corner clipped. Minor soiling on the top half of each course, but this does not take away from the overall appearance of the portraits. Overall very good.
