    A scarce copy of The Photographs of Abraham Lincoln featuring nearly 150 images relating to Lincoln

    The Photographs of Abraham Lincoln. Frederick Hill Meserve. Signed by the author on the colophon. Privately printed in New York, 1911, this copy is No. 89 of 102 and measures 9" x 11". Brown cloth boards. This books features in the front a facsimile of a letter from Robert Todd Lincoln and a large photographic portrait frontispiece. An additional 100 mounted photographic portraits of Abraham Lincoln are featured throughout the book, as are the following: 3 mounted images of Lincoln at Gettysburg; 4 mounted images of Mary Todd Lincoln and sons; 24 mounted photographs of military officers, politicians, and others; and one large photograph of Lincoln's internment. Included bound in the back of the book are two supplements: Supplement One (1917) includes 8 additional images of Lincoln and Supplement Two (1938) contains another eight images. Most images are the size of cartes de visite. The book belonged to the Brooklyn Public Library (a few stamps throughout), but a stamp on the front paste-down says that the book "May be sold for the benefit of the Brooklyn Public Library." Many of the mounted images are from photographic prints made from the originals. This images and text of this scarce copy are in very good condition. A very few pages are beginning to detach. The covers bear light wear.
