Superb Pair of Early Cartes de Visite From Hawaiian Photographer Menzies Dickson. Both images 2.5" x 4". Featured is an image shot in landscape format of a walled building identified in ink on the verso as "Prison Honolulu". This image has a "M. Dickson Artist, Honolulu, H.I." studio mark. The other image of an indigenous Hawaiian women identified in ink on the verso as wearing "Hawaiian Riding Dress" bears Dickson's "M. Dickson, Honolulu" studio mark. Both images are a bit light but the detail and clarity remains fine. From the estate collection of E.F. Mueller.
