Six Views of Abraham Lincoln - Cartes de Visite. This lot contains six different views of great President Lincoln. 1) A head and shoulders shot of Lincoln, very similar to a Brady portrait, but this one bears a Webster & Hopkins imprint on the verso. Listed as a variant of #O-84. In very fine condition; light toning on the emulsion; small blemish on verso to the left of the imprint; double lined gilt border; rounded corners. 2) An engraving in CDV size; ovoid portrait of Lincoln with full beard and dark suit. Likely an engraving of the Berger / Brady original #O-91. In very fine condition; pencil and ink notations on verso; moderate fading of the dark background; no imprint; double lined gilt border; square corners. 3) Another engraving in CDV size, this example is a full body depiction. Lincoln is shown seated in a chair with his hand resting on a writing desk. Also in very fine condition; no imprint on verso; light soiling in the corners; pencil notations on verso; no border; square corners. 4) Similar engraving to #2 in this lot; this time in a gold foliate and geometric border. In fine condition; mounting traces on verso; paper lightly torn on verso; overall toning on both sides; no imprint; no border; square corners. 5) A peculiar example of an engraving of Lincoln. This particular example features Lincoln's head on Martin Van Buren's body. Lincoln's head is far too large for the diminutive Dutchman's frame! A wonderful novelty to be sure. In very fine condition; pencil notations on verso; lower right corner of the emulsion warped and torn; light overall toning; double lined gilt border; square corners; no imprint. 6) Variant of the Berger / Brady original #0-91 ; this handsome and recognizable image features a bust shot of Lincoln with a full beard and dark suit. His iconic facial features and expression are unmistakable. Brady imprint on front and back. This is the star of this lot. In very fine condition; light overall toning; slight peeling on left and right edge of the emulsion; double lined gilt border; square corners.
