    Quincy A. Gillmore Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4", with an E. & H.T. Anthony, New York imprint on verso. A three-quarter portrait of Gillmore, published from a negative from Brady's National Portrait Gallery. A handsome photograph of the Union general, dressed in a long frock coat and leaning on a pedestal while holding his hat. Quincy A. Gillmore (1825-1888) was an 1849 graduate of West Point who served with distinction during the war, commanding the 10th Corp from June 1863. He was also a talented engineer and gained praise for his efforts at Fort Pulaski, Morris Island, Fort Wagner and Sumter. From the Bret J. Formichi American Civil War Rarities Collection.

    Condition: Lightly toned throughout, with minor wear to the corners. There is a small spot of soiling at the upper left side. A few pencil notations made on verso, otherwise good.
