Pennsylvania Militia Parade Drummer Carte de Visite.
2.5" x 3.75", with a Newell, Philadelphia imprint on verso. A standing portrait of an unidentified young drummer, dressed in full uniform. Seen wearing a gray shell jacket with a kepi, white gloves, and he is holding his drum sticks as if poised to play. A large eagle drum is suspended from a white linen sling across his chest. A cartridge box with an "NG" front plate rests on the pedestal at his side. An Austrian/ Prussian percussion musket with bayonet fixed also leans against the pedestal. From the Bret J. Formichi American Civil War Rarities Collection.

Condition: Minor toning at the edges, with slightly worn edges. On verso are what appear to be faint stains, perhaps from mounting residue. There is a small pencil notation at the top of the verso. Overall very good.
