    Pennsylvania Governor Andrew Gregg Curtin Cartes de Visite and Clipped Signature. (1) CDV of Governor Curtin posed seated, with an E. & H. T. Anthony, New York studio mark on the verso, from a Brady negative. Two-cent George Washington tax stamp affixed to the verso. Corners clipped, contemporary caption at the lower edge, else very good. (2) CDV of the governor posed standing with an E. & H. T. Anthony back mark on the verso, from a Brady negative. Very good. (3) Clipped signature, 5" x 3.25", "A. G. Curtin / Gov. Penna. / Harrisburg / May 3, 1865". Paper toned, else very good condition. Andrew G. Curtin (1817-1894) was a prominent Pennsylvania politician, serving as the state's governor during the Civil War. He was instrumental in establishing the National Cemetery at Gettysburg and in having Abraham Lincoln attend the dedication where Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address.
