    Nice Group of Eight Cartes de Visite of Union Generals, along with portrait of Col. Elmer E. Ellsworth. Portrait of Ellsworth shows him with open overcoat, kepi with rain cover. One hand tucked in pocket, the other holding a cane. No backmark. Also included are portraits of the following Generals: Robert Anderson, nicely tinted with McDowell kepi on the table at his side. Backmark of C. D. Fredericks, New York; Commodore David G. Farragut by Anthony, New York dated 1862; Gen. N. P. Banks by Case & Getchell of Boston with a small ink mark next to his head; Gen. Joseph Knipe with backmark of A. S. Morse, Nashville; Gen. George Stannard with backmark of Vermont Gallery of Art, Burlington, Vt; General Henry Halleck, dated 1861 with backmark of D. Appleton & Co.; Gen. George Stoneman by Brady. Portrait of Stannard with some light spotting and that of Stoneman slightly trimmed on bottom margin, else all very fine or better. Nice grouping with several very scarce portraits.
