    John G. Parke Signed Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4", a seated portrait in uniform, with a Brady, New York backstamp on verso. Signed below the image: "Jno. G. Parke Maj. Genl. Vols."

    John Grubb Parke (1827-1889) was an engineer and served as Commandant of West Point in the post-war years. He was Chief of Staff for Ambrose Burnside and fought at South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Knoxville, the Wilderness, Hatcher's Run and the Appomattox Campaign.

    Condition: Spotting and imperfections to the photograph. Minor toning. There are a few scratches and holes. Bumping to corners and lower edge.
