Flagship "Wabash", European fleet off Cuxhaven, Germany". The Wabash served on blockade duty throughout the war and was heavily engaged in the assaults on Ft. Fisher; great view of "Captain Wm. Reynolds, U. S. Ship N. Hampshire, Oct. 27, 1865, Savannah, Ga.", period ink script ID on verso. Backmark of "Sam A. Cooley, Photographer, Tenth Army Corps"; view of the U. S. Steamer Olympia. No backmark; view of the U. S. Steamer Magnet. Backmark of "Henderson, Kingston"; great view of the deck of the U. S. S. Richmond showing dozens of sailors, large gun, etc. The Richmond was heavily engaged with Farragut's fleet throughout the war, including Mobile Bay; great view on the deck of the "U. S. S. Kearsage, June 1864...Cherbourg, Engineer S. L. Smith leaning on 11 inch forward pivot gun and Master J. R. Wheeler", pencil ID on verso. A superb and historic grouping with all images in very fine or better condition.
