Group of Six Images Showing Midget Celebrities. During the late 19th century performing midgets, their agents and managers made fortunes off a public eager for human novelties. Included here are five promotional cartes de visite as follows:
Charles and Livinia Stratton (General and Mrs. Tom Thumb) from life with a Bartlett & Webster, Hartford, Connecticut backmark.
General and Mrs. Tom Thumb from a lithograph, no backmark.
Lizzie A. Reed per a penciled identification on the verso. With R. A. Lord, New York backmark,.
Major S. E. Houghton, no backmark.
Unidentified couple flanking midget with Eisenmann, New York backmark.

The sixth image is a cabinet card showing "Count and Countess Magri" by Ollivier of Brooklyn, New York. The Countess Magri here is none other than the former Lavinia Stratton, former wife of Charles Stratton. She married Magri, an Italian midget, two years after Stratton's 1883 death. All photographs have some soiling and normal aging. Overall very good condition.
