    Group Of Four Very Fine Brady Civil War Cartes-De-Visites. Group consists of the following: Horizontal view with Brady logo on verso. Although no period ID this is a very well known view of the Prince De Joinville, son of King Louis Philippe, two nephews, Count De Paris, Duc D'Chartres, son of Duc D'Orleans. The Frenchman were here serving as 'observers' with the Union Army. Some minor fading but excellent; Album size view of officers from the West Point class of 1860 in the field at Harrison's Landing, Va. Executed by Gardner while in Brady's employ and the identical view is offered in another lot in this auction. Although the original Brady/Gardner image there is no Copyright info or label, very fine; 1861 Brady / Washington portrait of a New York militia infantryman. Although the vast majority of these views are of members of the 7th New York, careful examination of the numeral on the front his kepi indicates it is an 8. Wears gray shell jacket and trousers with black facings. Full set of equipment with white buff slings, rectangular waist belt plate and knapsack with blanket rolled on the top. Holds M1855 rifled musket with bayonet fixed at his side.
    Very fine.; Great portrait of the dashing Col. William B. Hatch of the 4th New Jersey Inf. Hatch died of wounds received at Fredericksburg on Dec. 13, 1862, after having his leg amputated, on Dec. 15, 1862. Careful examination of the image shows him wearing the should straps of a full Colonel, the rank he ascended to, commanding the regiment, on 8/28/62. Wears Wars double breasted waist length jacket with piping on the standup collar and the front edge. sash and saber belt with M1840/60 saber. Holds kepi inn his hand at his side. Very fancy knee high boots with colored leather edging and spurs. Brady logo on both front and back. Very fine condition and a very scarce portrait of a gallant officer with a superb combat history. A very nice grouping.
