    Description

Gouverneur K. Warren Carte de Visite Signed "G.K. Warren Maj. Genl. Comd 5th A.C." 2.5" x 4", with a Brady's, New York imprint on verso. A vignette bust portrait of Warren, who served as a Union general of the 5th New York Infantry. Warren (1830-1882) is often referred to as the "Hero of Little Round Top" for his defense of that infamous position during the Battle of Gettysburg. He had been second in his West Point class of 1850 and led troops in the Peninsula, Second Bull Run and Antietam. At Gettysburg, it was his urging that drove Gen. Sykes's Corps to form defensive positions on the Round Tops, thereby avoiding disaster. From the Bret J. Formichi American Civil War Rarities Collection.

Condition: Uneven toning throughout, with some soiling on verso. Else very good, with a bold signature.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
