    Description

    General Ulysses S. Grant and Staff Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4". This full-length photo features the uniformed general, holding cigar and paper, is seated in the center of Colonels Adam Badeau (left) and Orville E. Babcock (right). Both men served Grant as aides-de-camp. Badeau later became a brevet brigadier general, and Babcock escorted General Robert E. Lee to the Appomattox courthouse. The reverse bears a tax stamp and the imprint of Leon Van Loo of Cincinnati. Clean save for some minor staining.
