    Francis P. Blair Signed Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4", a profile bust portrait in uniform, with a C.D. Fredricks & Co., New York backstamp on verso. Signed below the image: "Frank P. Blair Major Genl. Vols."

    Kentucky native Francis Blair, Jr. (1821-1875) became a Free Soiler during the 1850s and was instrumental in keeping Missouri out of the Confederacy. Blair saw action during the Vicksburg Campaign and the Atlanta Campaign. Blair was the unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Vice President in 1868, but was elected to the U. S. Senate in 1871.

    Condition: Clipped corners. Some foxing at the edges. Boldly signed by Blair.
