    Edwin M. Stanton, Secretary of War, Carte de Visite & Autograph. 2.5" x 4", back stamp reads " E. & H. T. Anthony 501 Broadway, New York from Photographic Negative of Brady's National Portrait Gallery." In pencil on verso the Secretary is identified and the date reads 1865. A crisp clean example with a crease in the bottom left corner. Stanton is posed standing at a table. With this image is Stanton's autograph 5" x 7" paper that appears to have been removed from a book. The page is toned along the edges, stained slightly and the signature has bleed through to the other side.
