    Daniel Bidwell Signed Twice Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4", a seated chest up portrait in uniform, with J.T. Upson, Buffalo, New York imprint at lower front mount. Signed below the image: "Col. D.D. Bidwell 48th NY" and signed on verso: "Yours Truly D.D. Bidwell Col 49th NY."

    Daniel Davidson Bidwell (1819-1864) fought at many of the war's major battles including Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. He was killed in action by a Confederate shell at the Battle of Cedar Creek in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley on October 19, 1864.

    Condition: Light edge toning and soiling. Foxing to the photograph. A few scuffs and imperfections in places. The signature on verso is slightly faded. Card corners are bumped.
