    Confederate Major General Henry Heth Carte de Visite and Signature. Includes: (1) CDV bust portrait of Heth in uniform, approximately 2.5" x 4" with a Vannerson & Jones Photographic Artists, Richmond, studio mark on the verso. Contemporary ink caption on the verso, else very good condition. (2) Heth's signature "H. Heth / Maj. Gen;. C.S.A." signed on the back of a Mrs. C. C. Pierce's 3.75" x 2.25" calling card. Light toning to the paper, else a bold, bright signature. Henry Heth (1825-1899) graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1847 at the bottom of his class. He resigned his commission at the outbreak of the war and later participated battles of Chancellorsville, Gettysburg and the Siege of Petersburg.
