Description

Confederate Colonel Davidson Bradford Penn Carte de Visite. Approximately 2.5" x 4" with a Lee Gallery, Richmond, Virginia studio mark printed on the verso. Davidson B. Penn (1836-1902) was commander of the 7th Louisiana Infantry Regiment which saw service at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. Col. Penn was captured at Rappahannock, Virginia on November 7, 1863 and remained a prisoner until the end of the war. After the war he served as Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana. This image features Penn seated, in civilian clothing. The image is slightly toned with age, otherwise it remains bright and in excellent condition.
