    Description

    Confederate Cartes-de-Visite: Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson and Micah Jenkins. Two (2) cartes including an unmarked "Stonewall" Jackson (1824-1863) and Micah Jenkins (1835-1864) by Vannerson, Richmond (somewhat faded). Jenkins led the 5th South Carolina Regiment. He fought at First Bull Run, Seven Pines (wounded), leading the "Palmetto Sharpshooters". He was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General on July 22, 1862 at the age of 26. He was twice wounded at Second Bull Run. He fought at Chickamauga and was mortally wounded by friendly fire during the Battle of the Wilderness, while riding alongside Lt. Gen. Longstreet, on May 6, 1864.
