    Confederate Brigadier General Roswell Sabine Ripley Carte de Visite and Autograph Noted Signed "R S Ripley". Including: 1) Bust portrait CDV of Ripley in his Confederate general's uniform. No studio imprint. Very good. 2) ANS, one page, 5" x 7.75", reading in full: "Hd Qtrs / Sept 7th 1861 / Colonel / Have you a [illegible] / cart. Can I get it. / Yours Truly / R S Ripley". Slightly toned and with the usual old, smoothed fold creases, otherwise bright, bold and in excellent condition.
