    Civil War Union Cartes-de-visite: Identified Soldiers. Studio image of soldier in fatigue jacket wearing corps badge, signed on verso "Wm. S. Brown/ Company A/ 5th Excelsior". Bowdoin, Taylor & Company of Alexandria, Virginia back mark. Brown served in the New York 74th Infantry and was wounded at Locust Grove, Virginia on November 26, 1863. 2) Fine image of 1st Lt. Daniel O'Brien who served in Company G New York 3rd Cavalry. He was taken prisoner at Reams' Station, Virginia on June 29, 1864 and left the service three months later after being exchanged. 3) Bold image of M. R. Connelly wearing his corps badge, signed on verso "Truly Yours/ M. R. Connolly/ 2nd Lieut./ 57th N.Y.V." E. A. Thomalen of New York back mark. Connolly served close to three years.
