    Civil War Union Cartes-de-visite: Identified Soldiers Including Gettysburg Casualty. Clean vignette portrait of soldier, signed at bottom "Samuel Simmons/ Lt. Col. & C.S." Simmons served in the Commissary Department and hailed from Missouri. 2) Standing portrait of soldier signed "E. H. Phelps". Edward H. Phelps was a Colonel who served in the Ohio 38th Infantry. He was killed at Missionary Ridge on November 25, 1863. Slight fade, minor soiling, rounded corners. 3) Engraved portrait CDV of "Edward E. Cross/ Col. 5th N.H.V." published by Martien of Philadelphia. He was wounded at Fair Oaks, Antietam, Fredericksburg and Gettysburg. He died on July 3, 1863 from wounds received at the latter engagement. Some faint ink stains at top.
