    Civil War Officers: Collection of Eight Cartes de Visite including Joseph E. Johnston and Raphael Semmes (Two). A nice grouping, generally in fine condition, flaws noted below. Ranks are highest reached during the Civil War.
    CSA General Joseph E. Johnston: Head and shoulders vignette in uniform, corners clipped slightly, Vannerson backmark (Richmond), identified in ink on verso.
    CSA Rear Admiral Raphael Semmes: Two head and shoulder vignette poses, light soiling on both, one with E. & H. T. Anthony backmark (New York), both identified in pencil on verso.
    CSA Lieutenant General Simon Buckner: Knees up seated pose in uniform, E. & H. T. Anthony backmark (New York).
    Union Major General Oliver Howard: Head and shoulders vignette in uniform, paper loss on front apparently from tape removal, Joseph Ward backmark (Boston), identified in pencil on front.
    Thomas C. Williams: Head and shoulders vignette, not in uniform, William Garst backmark (Danville, Kentucky), identified in ink on front.
    Two additional CDVs are unidentified. One, full length pose in a naval uniform with no backmark. The other, a head and shoulder vignette, no uniform, D. Appleton backmark (New York).
