4 1/2" X 7 3/8" Unmounted Albumen View Of Andersonville Prison By A. J. Biddle. Signed by Handy on verso, negative # 8220. Additional pencil notes on verso "A. J. Riddle from Atlanta, Ga. Andersonville Prison." This image is illustrated on P. 192, "Mr. Lincoln's Cameraman" Illus. #107. Identified by collector as "Showing the ration wagon inside the north gate; James Selman's sutler shanty sits in the center background". Hundreds of bedraggled prisoners cluster around the wagon and sutler's tent. with camp in background. Remarkable view. Very fine with just a touch of even fading and a stain over a clean tear with no loss, where there was apparently at one time a piece of tape that has now been removed.
