[Texas Rangers]. Photograph of Unidentified Texas Ranger with Carbine and Revolvers, circa 1870s. 2.5" x 4.25", sepia-toned carte de visite. The Ranger is posed standing with his left hand resting on the barrel of his rifle, with twin revolvers stashed in his gun belt. He is wearing high boots and bib front shirt. The underside of his wide-brimmed hat is embellished with stars. No backstamp. Slight chipping at the lower edge; several small spots at the lower right corner. A great image of a triple armed Ranger with strong detail and contrast. Former owner's mark on verso. Provenance: George Jackson Collection.
