    [Texas Rangers]. James C. Barringer and Dora I. Boydstun Wedding Portrait, circa 1889. 4.25" x 6.5" cabinet card. The bride stands in her wedding dress as the groom sits. Barringer served in Company "C"" under Captain George W. Schmitt before serving as City Marshal of Baird, Texas, near Abilene. An inscription on the verso identifies the subjects and date of the photograph "Wedding picture of James C. Barringer & Dora I. Boydstun Prob. Made Nov. 13, 1889 in Dallas (married in Rockwall Nov. 12, 1889) City Marshal of Baird Texas." The lower margin of the recto is stamped in gold gilding, "The 'Apex' 948 Elm St. Dallas, Tex." A previous collector has written his name on the verso in modern ink. Some light foxing on verso and small chip to mount. Provenance: Robert W. Stephens, George Jackson Collection.
