    [Galveston]. Carte de Visite of 1867 Flood Damage at the Galveston Port. 2.5" x 4", unmarked mount. A period pencil identification on the verso reads: "The Strand Galveston after the Flood Oct. 3/67." That year a hurricane made landfall south of Galveston and flattened Bagdad and Clarksville at the mouth of the Rio Grand. Damage was assessed at $1 million.

    Condition: Great detail to the albumen; very clean, and the mount has retained it's sharp edges.
