    [Colored Troops.] Sergeant Taylor B. Aldrich Carte de Visite Signed. 2.5" x 4". This image features the young sergeant seated in his shell jacket with a sword. Aldrich, of Fayette County, Pennsylvania, mustered into Co. "B," U.S. Colored Troops 19th Infantry in February 1864 for a three-year term. The 19th Regiment fought at the battles of the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, and more. After the war, the regiment was sent to Texas to maintain the peace. The card is signed on the reverse in ink, "Taylor B. Aldrich / Co. 'B. 19' U.S.C.T. / Talbot Co. Md. / Dec 26 1866." Minor soiling and foxing.
