    Images of noted abolitionist John Brown and author/abolitionist Harriet Beecher Stowe. John Brown's CDV bears no studio imprint; Stowe's has a C. D. Frederickson & Company, New York studio imprint on the verso.

    Condition: Brown's CDV has some pinprick stains with two small ticket-punch holes near the lower edge, one just affecting the image with contemporary ciphering in pencil on the verso; Stowe's CDV is in excellent condition.
