    Carte-De-Visite Bust Portrait Of Capt. George M. Dewey, 10th New York Inf. 'National Zouaves' With Excellent History. Dewey enlisted in the 10th New York on 4/26/61 as a 2nd Lt. He was discharged on 10/13/64. During his term of service he was wounded and captured at 2nd Bull Run 8/30/62 and paroled 9/2/62. He was again wounded at the Wilderness on 5/6/64. He was promoted to Captain, the rank he holds in this image on 12/18/62. Very fine quality, some minor foxing with corners clipped. Signed in ink script on the verso by Dewey with backmark of R. A. Lewis / New York. Nice image with great history.
