DescriptionUnion General Samuel P. Heintzelman: Three Carte de Visites & Signature. Two CDVs, one by Brady with coat in hand, the other by Earles of Philadelphia standing next to a chair. The third image is a bust view of the General in a double breasted uniform with the imprint C. D. Fredricks on the front and back marked C.D. Fredricks & Co., 587 Broadway, New York, Paris, Habana, with a blue 2 cent George Washington Internal Revenue tax stamp. All three are excellent. The CDVs are accompanied by General Heintzelman's wartime autograph reading " I remain very truly yours, S. P. Heintzelman, Brig. Genl." written boldly in ink. Size: 4" x 1.5".
General Heintzleman was promoted to the rank of brigadier general on May 17, 1861 and was then wounded in the first battle of Bull Run. He went on to command the 3rd Corps at Yorktown and served at Seven Pines, and the 2nd battle of Bull Run.
