Robert E. Lee and Joseph E. Johnston Cabinet Card. Measuring 4.25" x 6.5", the two leading generals of the Confederate Army are seen sitting at a table in this wet plate albumen. Johnston appears at left and Lee on the right. The photograph was taken in Savannah, Georgia, sometime in the spring of 1870 at the photograph studio of D. Ryan. Lee, whose health was failing, was on a tour of the South when he visited Johnston, the first time the two men had seen each other since the war. Johnston, who was living in Savannah at the time, was working in insurance. Lee died in October of that same year. Scattered spots of foxing. Area of light staining at the upper left corner; waterstaining at the upper and side edges of the verso of the mount. This is a fantastic image.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
