DescriptionJames Calhoun: A Circa 1875 Cabinet Photo of this Custer Brother-in-Law Who Died at Little Big Horn. Calhoun married Custer's sister Margaret in 1872 and quickly became an integral member of the "Custer Clan." He was known as the "Adonis of the 7th"because of his striking good looks.
At Little Big Horn he commanded L Company, and to all appearances fought bravely. He formed his men into a disciplined defensive perimeter around what is now known as Calhoun Hill until they were overwhelmed. This 4.125" x 6.375" photo is in exceptional condition.
