Ely S. Parker Cabinet Card. 4.25" x 6.25". Featuring General Grant's adjutant in military uniform. At Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865, Parker helped draft the surrender documents between Grant and General Lee. According to Parker, General Lee looked at Parker for a long while, then extended his hand and said, "I am glad to see one real American here." Parker replied, "We are all Americans." After the Civil War, Parker, a Seneca, was breveted a brigadier general, making him one of only two American Indians to become a general during the Civil War. Earlier in 1852, he had been made sachem of the Seneca. Below Parker's image is written in black ink: "Ely S. Parker / Bvt. Brig. Genl. / late U.S.A. / Mil. Sect. to Gen. U. S. Grant. / Do-ne-ho-ga-wa / Sachem of the Six Nations." The photographer's imprint along the lower edge reads, "F. Gutekunst, Philadelphia."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
