    Early St. Michael, Alaska: Fifteen Significant, Large-Format Photographs. By several different photographers including some signed by Moses and Drane. These images were the property of David Swenson, an amateur ethnologist who studied Native Americans in the Southwest, then moved to Nome in 1906. Significant content in these fine images, including:
    (1) Native freighting with reindeer
    (2) Log telegraph station
    (3) Eskimo with Kayak
    (4) Eskimo burial grounds
    (5) Steamship Victoria surrounded by ice
    (6) Eskimo woman and child
    (7) A pier for unloading freight
    (8) Rolling waves with steamships in the distance
    (9) Two Eskimo men in parkas
    (10) The hospital at St. Michaels
    (11-13) Building surrounded by snow
    (14-15) Portraits of young Eskimo maidens
    Original mounts have damage as shown and some images affected by water staining. Most carry period notations. Each 10.5" x 8.75" including mounts.
