DescriptionCrow Indian Photograph, Hairy Moccasin & Corner of the Mouth, ca. 1890s. This framed silver gelatin photograph print of Hairy Moccasin was taken by Fred E. Miller (Helena, Montana). Hairy was a scout for Custer; he died October 9, 1922. Miller photographed records for the Bureau of Indian Affairs on the Crow reservation. He was also a land clerk at the Crow Agency. In 1905, he was adopted into the Crow Nation. Measures in frame approximately 16" x 23".
Condition: Fine, has not been taken out of frame.
