"Utley and others, agency officials in late 1876 were sending peace talkers to the camps of the Northern Indians to ask them to come in. Bears Face and Long Feather came to Sitting Bull from Standing Rock. It was stated that only that both men were from Standing Rock".

Wearing a crucifix, perhaps showing that he wanted to be on good terms with the missionaries or had been baptized already. Nice Barry image. Measures approximately 4.25" x 6.50".
Condition: Fine, albumen paper has a spot upper right, colored with yellow, mount soiled.
