    Description

Buffalo Bill's Wild West: Lot of Three Albumen Photographs, Circa 1890. A wonderfully humorous trio of narrative photographs from Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. Three actors are depicting an old west poker game gone dead wrong. The first view is of the gamblers showing their cards. Two of the men are garbed in fringed buckskin, the third is more of a city slicker, wearing pinstriped pants and a tie. In the second view, a knife stabbed into the table top shows someone is not happy with what the cards have to say. The gamblers have kicked over their chairs and drawn their weapons. The westerners in buckskin have the drop on the third man. The third view shows the aftermath - the city slicker is dead on the floor and one of the buckskin clad men is stoically wiping off his knife. Pencil writing on the verso on the last photograph identifies the performers as John Mossman, Harold Mossman, and Ezra Hagoman. A wonderful example of how Buffalo Bill's show catered to audience perceptions of the American West being fraught with danger and excitement. Each mounted image measures 8.25" x 5.5" and is in good condition, with the exception of some light foxing and corner wear. Small area of loss from the upper right corner of the second photograph.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
