    Description

Annie Oakley: Sensational, Previously Unpublished and Possibly Unique Cabinet Photograph. This stunning profile was shot by Sims of West Brompton, England, during the Buffalo Bill's Wild West conquest of England in 1887. Annie is wearing the low-crowned Stetson she was known to favor (see Lot 44018 in our June 2012 auction) with her trademark six-pointed star on the front brim. At twenty-seven, she looks very young (it's easy to see how the Wild West publicists could knock six years off her real age), soft and feminine, yet determined. This is one of the most revealing portraits ever made of Little Sure Shot. The card has a chipped corner, a small tear in the emulsion not affecting the image, light age staining throughout, and some tape residue. Annie's lovely face and flowing hair shine through unaffected.

You reach a customer base that is in many ways completely unknown to the major auction houses, and your marketing to this base is as professional as one could hope for. As I continue to wind down my holdings.
