Description[Texas Rangers]. James "Buck" Barry Cabinet Card Photograph, circa 1875. 4.25" x 6.5". Buck Barry (1821-1906) was an early Texas Ranger who served under Jack Hays during the Mexican War. This later photograph features the Ranger wearing a long beard. Photo stamp by S. B. Hill of Austin on verso. Also on verso is the ownership signature by Mrs. Sarah Barry, and a modern collector's name written in modern ink. Biographical notes in an unknown hand also appear.
