    Description

Blanche & Buck Barrow: A Great Group of Original Snapshots, Including 8 with Her Signature or Notations in Her Hand. Blanche was married to Clyde Barrow's brother Buck, an integral member of the Barrow gang, and was "on the lam" with the gang during their most active and violent period. She was with the gang during two gunfights with the authorities, suffering a severe eye injury in one. Blanche stayed with Buck until the end, captured when she refused to leave his side when he was shot down. She spent six years in prison before being paroled, and went on to live quietly for another 50 years.
This group, which came directly from her estate, is comprised of 23 images, including one of Blanche hugging Buck and sign "B.B. B.B. Texarcana [sic] Park 1930 March or April." A delightful image shows Blanche posed saucily on the front bumper of a Model A Ford, inscribed "B.B. Ala. 1931." A photo of Blanche in waitress's uniform, posed with two other unidentified women, is inscribed by her on verso: "The tallest one is the one with the leather coat...is the dishwasher and the other one myself is waitress. Some going ha. Love to Dad from your baby girl Taken Dec. 1935." A unique and significant photo group for the serious collector of outlaw items.
