    Description

Armed Mexican Revolutionary Solider on Horse Imperial size Cabinet card ca 1915 - This regal and important Mexican Revolution Soldier's steely gaze almost certainly struck fear into the hearts of the "Federals" who viewed this image, and evokes the same imagery to those who view it today. This soldier was undoubtedly wealthy and most likely a Commander or Officer of note, mounted and fully armed with all of his field gear including ringed chaps, wonderful traditional-style large tapaderos, two gun belts with bullets, and a large Eagle head sword. The photograph was taken outdoors, and the light is captured on the coat of his fine grey horse and mount. This unmarked, imperial size cabinet card is on a beautiful and classic black flower design mount. A somewhat unusual and outstanding format when compared to other Mexican Revolution-era images, the vast majority of which are un-mounted postcards. A fine and well documented Mexican Revolution portrait image that would be the highlight of most collections.

Pictured in Mexican Heritage Calendar 2006 May "Caballo de batalla" a well breed battle horse.

Condition: Fine, overall age toning and soiling around edges, corners of the card are lightly bumped
