    Archive of 580 Photographs.
    Printed by Kodak
    Most measuring 4.5" x 3.25" (11.43 x 8.25 cm)
    Pittsfield, Massachusetts; circa 1940s-1950s

A collection of approximately 580 familial photographs of African-Americana taken during the 1940s and 1950s. Around 350 of the photographs are loose, while the rest are housed in thirty-one original "Super Pak Snaps" photo albums, each measuring 5.5" x 3.75", with deckle-edged pages. The loose photographs come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 5.5" x 3.5" to 1.5" x 1.25". On a handful of pictures has been written identifying information, such as names and dates. Many of the snapshots have an ink-stamped number on verso.

Although these are amateur photographs, the images provide unique look into the everyday life of African-Americans during this period. They show friends and family, social events and every day activities.

Condition: Various amounts of wear, toning, and soiling. Some photographs are lightly toned throughout. Some corners are bumped. Overall good.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
