    Ambrotype Image of Confederate Captain Henry Luse Foules, Buck's Company, Mississippi, Killed in Action at Atlanta, June 16, 1864. Tinted oval 2.5" x 3.25", Ambrotype of Foules, posed seated, in uniform. Housed in a green velvet case. A sharp, bright image in excellent condition. Henry Luse Foules (1837-1864) was an 1857 graduate of Yale University (the lot includes a lithograph of Foules taken while he was at Yale). He enlisted on July 24, 1862 as a Captain and was commissioned into C Company of Buck's Mississippi Cavalry. He died of wounds he received at Atlanta on June 16, 1864. The image is accompanied by many pages of photocopied official documents related to Foules and his military career to help in further research.
