    Description

Alaska Gold Rush: A Significant 1898-dated Image of Lake Barge with a Flotilla of Vessels. Taken the day the ice broke up sufficiently to allow miners to advance to the Klondike. Signed by "Larss & Duclos Photographers, Dawson". Per Larss would decamp for Nevada in 1904, where he opened Palm Studio in Goldfield and became one of the pioneer photographers of that legendary town. 8.25" x 6.375". Moisture damage along left edge and lower right-hand corner, but the historic image is clear.
