    Description

Absolutely Great Half Plate Tintype of Eight Enlisted Members of Co. K 9th Vermont Vols. All Identified. All wear frock coats and kepis, 4 standing at the rear and four seated in front. Nice painted backdrop. All eight men were from Drummerston, Vt. The image is accompanied by a period ink script list of all of the men in the image. A later typewritten document provides the history of each of the men. Remarkably all eight survived the war, with only one, Harrison K Bacon, having been wounded on Sept. 29, 1864. The 9th Vermont was captured en masse at Harper's Ferry in Sept. 1862, but promptly paroled and spent time guarding Confederate prisoners in Chicago and City Point, Va. prior to beginning active campaigning again in early 1864. The regiment lost 24 men killed and mortally wounded during their term of service, which expired on December 1, 1865. This is clearly an early war image and likely taken before the group left Drummerston. Great image with superb ID. In nice black push button case.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
