    Abraham Lincoln: Outdoor View at Antietam. O-66, taken by Alexander Gardner at Antietam on October 1, 1862. Lincoln pays a visit to the Commander of the Army of the Potomac after his morale boosting victory which lead to the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation three months later. The bold albumen titled "General McClellan's Headquarters at Antietam, October 1, 1862" measures 7" x 8" and is affixed to a 12.5" x 10.5" mount. Published by Taylor & Huntington of Hartford. Some abrasions to printed title. Light crease running through middle of image. Generally a fine example. Quite rare in this large format. From the collection of Dr. Michael Krane.
