    Description

Abraham Lincoln: "Latest Photograph Of President Lincoln". 7" x 10" (sight) and 14 3/4" x 17 3/4" overall framed. R.F. Warren of Waltham, Mass. on March 6, 1865. On the titled mount it also reads "The latest Photograph Of President Lincoln Taken On The Balcony At The White House, March 6, 1865". That same day Warren took the well known photograph of Tad Lincoln on his pony. It is said that Warren convinced Tad to speak with his father about sitting for Warren, which Lincoln reluctantly did. The image is in spectacular condition having excellent details and contrast. This was the last photograph President Lincoln sat for as he was assassinated a little over a month later.
