    Description

Abraham Lincoln: Antietam Battlefield Mounted Albumen by Gardner. O-62, taken by Alexander Gardner on October 3, 1862. The albumen itself measures 9.25" x 7.25" and is affixed to the original 10" x 8" mount. Good clarity. Some loss to the mount from prior matting and framing with two stains and an abrasion in the lower left corner. The verso has what appears to be a handwritten transcription of the caption that appears on other versions of the photograph (loss and abrasions from prior framing, but essentially intact). Good crossover appeal to the Lincoln, Civil War and early photography collector. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
